Rudi de Saer - 1 e 2 pombo designado no Nacional de SOUILLAC 06-08-2013

De Saer Antoine & Rudi (Ruiselede, BE): first and second nominated pigeon take the lead in national from Souillac

The pigeon family of De Saer from Ruiselede has been doing great this season and they have once more showed their potential. The national race from Souillac was just one of many top performances in Ruiselede this season.

New Tours, a three-year-old cock, wins a 13th national against 8,331 old birds as first nominated; their second nominated takes a 44th national. Four De Saer pigeons from a total of nine have finished in the top 85. New Tours managed to win five top 100 places in 12 national races, including three places in the top 20.

Rudi De Saer

Rudi has approximately 60 widowers (23 old birds and 37 yearlings) in his loft and he takes part in all national races. He breeds 130 young birds from two rounds every season and they are all darkened. The cocks from the first round are trained over a maximum distance of 300km. The youngsters are trained regularly and only the strongest of them are given a place in the racing loft, where they have to prove their worth as yearlings. The hens have to complete the national races. The youngsters from the second round have a more relaxed schedule; they are now basketed from Arras (100km). Rudi’s pigeon family consists of 95% of pigeons from Gaby Vandenabeele. The De Saer family has been purchasing pigeons from the grandmaster from Dentergem for years on end. The De Saer loft houses direct descendants from all of Gaby’s best chmapions. Rudi had just purchased another round of Vandenabeele pigeons when his father Antoine told him it was time to start breeding with them instead of purchasing new rounds every season. This has obviously been a great move: the De Saer family has become very successful with the help of these bloodlines. He has a few pigeons from Gino Clique (Wevelgem) and VanVancauwenberghe-Ally & Gyselbrecht-Madeirra (Ruiselede) as well.

New Tours 802/10 - 1/2 irmão dos nossos 855/11 e  856/11

New Tours is without doubt one of the big stars in this loft. He is a three-year-old cock and he is a pure Vandenabeele bird. His sire, Zoon Groten, was second provincial Ace Pigeon Long Distance 2006, he is the sire of a first national Souillac 2012 and winner of top results from Chateauroux, Limoges and Brive. His dam is a 100% Vandenabeele breeding hen. She is the dam of Antonio (winner of a first nat. Souillac 2012), Tours, Bleken, Close, New Tours. New Tours stems from the two famous Vandenabeele pigeons De Wittebuik and De Kleinen via both his sire and his dam. He won a 13th national prize from Souillac as first nominated and he achieved five top 100 prizes in 12 national races (including three places in the top 20): one prize per ten, two prizes per 12, one prize per 30, two prizes per 40 and a prize per 50. This is quite an exceptional pigeon so we take a look at his best results:
